Before this vacuum I was a fan of Bissell. The rotation and navigation are GREAT, the only downside is it's also easier to tip over if you have a toddler like me. I really miss my auto retract cord BUT the suction power is so much better that rewinding the cord by hand makes up for it. Cons: Can't vacuum small rugs or rugs that aren't secured, especially those with frays or rags, which will eat them up and automatically shut off the brush. This vacuum cleaner will eat pretty much anything, I've vacuumed some baby socks, a dog toy and who knows what else. However, I have to lift it up a bit to soak up the flakes. He is so low on the ground that he shakes the flakes before collecting them. Works great on vinyl and wood floors (except flake). There are only two settings that I also had to get used to - hardwood (no brush) and carpet (brush). The nozzles are good, but there is no room for one of them, triangular I think, for furniture? I don't use it because it's never on hand when I might need it. The second biggest plus is that it doesn't clog! (So far for months I've been vacuuming at least every other day, sometimes multiple times a day, with a cat, a dog, a messy toddler and 3 unkempt kids). My Bissell has had me sticking my hand in and grabbing dirt and hair which I was afraid of because I'm allergic to dust (and who knows what else) and then my hands are dirty! It's simple, one release button and completely empty. (But don't tell my husband I said that, he'll say "I told you so!")
