Love this vacuum but don't love pretense!

I bought this vacuum because: 1. My mother had a similar model and she liked that it moved easily from carpet to tile/wood floors. 2. The amount of dirt removed from furniture and carpets is impressive. I have a cat and her fur is stuck to my sofa. While this model still works with my old Hoover or Eureka to make it easier to switch between carpeted and hardwood floors, the lack of a better furniture mount is disappointing. I used the included nozzle and it worked, but I'm not sure how long it…

Great Vac!: Vacuuming and floor care

I am very impressed. After Dyson and Hoover, this is the best of the three cars I've owned. After my 14 x 12 bedroom was vacuumed by a housewife with what she used and I then vacuumed with a vacuum cleaner. This thing removed a lot of unpleasant things from the carpet. (See photos) The house is vacant and for sale so as it was vacuumed twice there were no people or pets in the room. I took this one with me for a final cleaning before closing time. Not only that, it weighs less and is much…

The best vacuum cleaner I've ever had; Serious!

Vacuum cleaners come to my house to die. Serious; We have to buy a new one every year! They usually start to break down within the first 3 months. I've had my vacuum for a few months now and I'm happy to report that this is the very first of MANY vacuums that have lasted so long in my large house. We are a family of 7; along with 2 dogs and 2 cats. 11 rooms in my house are either carpeted or carpeted and half of them have hardwood floors; I can use this vacuum cleaner on both surfaces. We live…

crappy construction in one area

Overall it seems to be a very good vacuum cleaner, not too noisy, with good suction, good manoeuvrability, good big container, in short really a winner. BUT. A small, short, flexible hose that comes out at the bottom and attaches to the underside of the pipe area to provide a continuous path for airflow has two small protrusions, one on each side, that should each protrude from the plastic tab and lock into the corresponding recesses on the underside of the handle. I've seen many products with…

The best I've ever had! First Shark

Before this vacuum I was a fan of Bissell. The rotation and navigation are GREAT, the only downside is it's also easier to tip over if you have a toddler like me. I really miss my auto retract cord BUT the suction power is so much better that rewinding the cord by hand makes up for it. Cons: Can't vacuum small rugs or rugs that aren't secured, especially those with frays or rags, which will eat them up and automatically shut off the brush. This vacuum cleaner will eat pretty much anything, I've

Um...better than my old vacuum in some ways. with several design flaws

I would not recommend this vacuum cleaner. In terms of performance, everything is fine. I was trying to solve some problems I had with my previous vacuums (Bissels), but this vacuum has other problems. Pros: 1) My Bissells were too heavy and unwieldy, especially on my thick carpet. The Shark Navigator is much lighter and easier to control thanks to its pivoting function. It seems to pick up just as much dirt and dust as my previous vacuums. 2) The hose has great suction, the best I've seen. The

Powerful, simple, lightweight vacuum cleaner

I recently removed all the carpeting in my house and replaced all the floors with engineered vinyl. As such, this review is not necessarily intended for those who have a fully carpeted home. My experience with Shark Navigator has been excellent for my vinyl floors. I have two cats, so there are occasional steppe runners hopping around the house. There are also small pieces of cat litter next to the litter boxes. She sucks that vacuum in like a hungry, hungry hippopotamus without spitting it out

Excellent suction and generally good design

I've been using the Shark Navigator Professional for about a year and can say it's a definite improvement over the cheaper vacuum I've used. The vacuum cleaner is quite light and manoeuvrable. I love the swivel head, it really allows me to tilt the tank and engine (the top of the car) sideways to get under tables and other objects. Some rotary vacuums also spin the wheels when you turn the handle to the side, allowing for tighter turns. This one doesn't. Instead, it just tilts the tank and…
