They seem to work well in small sizes, wash well etc. The textured side can be used for easy ventilation in the microwave etc. I was hoping they would replace some of the hard Nordic lids for the microwaves that I had been using for a while. I thought they would be easier to clean and take up less space. However, they are really more of a hassle after use because you have to clean them after each use and because they are so flexible that the large sizes are not easy to clean by hand. The old Scandinavian style I used was stiff and I just put a piece of paper towel between the food and the lid. Once the food was reheated, there was no need to remove it, just throw away the paper towel. Another thing is that they are not suitable for eating on a plate because they end up just sitting on the food. They work well for bowls and other items where there is enough space between the top of the food and the top of the bowl/container.
