Review on πŸ”Š Polk Audio 70-RT 3-Way In-Ceiling Speaker (2.5” Driver, 7” Sub) - The Vanishing Series with Power Port, Paintable Grille & Dual Band-Pass Bass Ports, White by Angela Gershmel

Dimensions say it all

Measurement with the MINIDSP UMIK-1 microphone. The loudspeaker is installed in a self-made housing made of 16 mm thick MDF. Soundproofed with 45 mm fiberglass. I made this enclosure for all my ceiling speakers. Note that you NEED a CABINET for wall and ceiling speakers, otherwise you will pay 5x what you hear. (or get bad audio). The blue curve shows the frequency response when the lower setting is switched to normal, while the brown curve shows the frequency response when switched to reflective. Essentially this reduces the 3k-15k by about 3dB. Both settings produce a fairly neutral sound - note that this is FREQUENCY IN THE ROOM, it tends to be ugly and oscillating. However, it is fairly flat and smooth. A wonderful speaker from Polk. All I can say is wow what a deal.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Difficult to say
