Review on Airaid Cold Air Intake System: Boosted Horsepower, Enhanced Filtration: Fits 1994-2001 DODGE (Ram 1500, Ram 2500)AIR-300-106 by Chris Dildine

Fitted to a 1999 1500 3.9L V6. Installing the cover is why I am giving this 3 stars. - Designed to be easier to fully install into the throttle body than it is now. I used a pair of flimsy vises to finish inserting the "s" bolt (and turning back 180 degrees) of the guide piece. I suggest that AIRAID add a solid nut to the "s" bolt just above the threads that go into the throttle body. That way you could move the "s" bolt more easily. The next problem was putting a cap on the "s" screw and trying to slide it through the electrical loop and under the "ledge" where the electrical loop attaches. I had to cut the clips to move the hinge so I could maneuver the cap on the "s" bolt. It seems like it only goes one way, so you'll need to pay attention to where it's going and not spend too much time on that part of the setup. Another suggestion would be that AIRAID make a two piece cap. When I finally put the hat on (a week later) everything else ran smooth as silk. PROS: Item looks well installed. The truck sounds great and seems to have a little more power. I look forward to driving it this week to see how the gas mileage is. I would buy this product again. If you decide to do this, make sure you have time to wrestle with the lid if you have a V6 engine.
