Review on Monroe Gas-Magnum 34926 ๐Ÿ’ช Shock Absorber: Unmatched Performance and Durability! by Cliff Gibs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Upgraded ride and transportation at an unbeatable price!

These shock absorbers were just the job for my old 1988 Ford F-150 straight six. I had to replace all six shock absorbers as the rear sections were loose, one half was flared and the other half damaged enough to require the bottom half as well, so I wasn't set up for a strain. My front looked fine, but I could tell from driving that they weren't acting normally. So, with a little elbow grease and the right wrenches, it was a piece of cake. Pro tip: As much as you might want to strap on a Kroil or PB blaster to suck up rusty old shocks before you remove the old nuts, try driving your car in the rain and bump into a few puddles along the way. Or use a garden hose to soak rusty bolts. Just as water causes rust, it dissolves it. In addition, the foaming rate is higher than that of oil because the water molecules are smaller than those of oil. I use either this or a product designed to rust, like a mixture of water and acid. Follow these instructions along with a jumper or jumper if you have space and the nuts will come off easily. If you need some post-word oil, one of the products above will do, although if you need to take it off in the near future and expect more oxidation, there's no shame in using some sort of high-temp thread lubricant. Thank you for offering them at such a great price. As for my old car vs the new one, after the shock absorbers: A huge difference that not only improves comfort but also reduces wear and tear on the more expensive and difficult to replace parts on your truck. Monroe Gas Magnums are also made in the USA, which is a nice change of pace. Enjoy it!
