Great for solar powered combiners
This has allowed me to make my own combiners and saved hundreds of dollars in the process. I bought some weatherproof metal boxes, attached the mp4 connectors and placed two of them on the box along with a small 4-pin ground connector and locking mechanism for less than $60 a box. This saves me over $100 per box and the conversion only takes about 15 minutes. They allowed me to combine 4 rows of panels into one box.
