I bought a set of two keys for my 2002 Ford Ranger for $20. I carved them on site which cost $25 for a key. Then when I tried to program them, only one of the buttons could not be programmed. The transponder must be defective, or possibly not suitable for my car, although the other worked perfectly. So now I have a working key and an expensive key just for the door. I don't want to return my broken key as I've already had to pay $25 to have it cut and besides it can't be used by anyone else. Can I get a new transponder? or a spare key to replace the transponder? It looks like it can be changed.
