I bought this item to safely carry a smaller curling iron in my large bag. The carrying case is great because you can put a still hot (but OFF) curling iron on/in it without the case melting. The carrying case even has a small compartment to protect the power cord from touching the hot iron. The curling iron heats up in a few seconds and does its job perfectly. I haven't tried a flat iron because I want curly hair, not straight. But very clever (does anyone still say that?) how you can switch from curling iron to straightening iron at the push of a button.
