I ordered this item and another similar item because the R-134a is 12 oz. The jars my son brought us to recharge his system were the new breed of "self-sealing" jars. None of my multiple valves worked on its cans. They would rotate, but they would not allow the refrigerant to exit the cylinder. So we used some old R-134a bottles I had on hand. It looks like the new R-134a cylinders should be self-closing for safety reasons. That's all great, but it leaves your old faucet useless and worse, now you're down. I'm the type of guy, even at 69, who will and will buy tools in case I need them in the future, so I bought this great value faucet. Haven't used it yet, but seems to be fine using the included 1/4" Flare Female to 1/2" Acme Male adapter. Most R-134a manifold hoses are 1/2 in. with male Acme threads on the center hose used to connect to R-134a cylinders. I would rather not use an adapter but I couldn't find any faucets. Valves on the Revain that could connect directly to a 1/2" hose. This faucet looks well made. Some valves may not have an adapter so don't follow this if your hoses are 1/2".
