I threw my working vacuum cleaner in the trash and bought this one. The Hoover design was one of those types where the entire dirt collection front was removed to take out the filter and then discard the dirt. The problem was that the latch holding the front of the vacuum cleaner was cheaply made and the whole damn thing could fall off while you were working. The battery of the vacuum cleaner was also difficult to charge (installation + removal). This Black & Decker has none of those annoyances. You only need to open the back cover to dispose of the garbage. The battery must not be removed; You simply connect the cable to the vacuum cleaner. Excellent suction power; Two modes to extend battery life with less noise. I just bought a second one to keep on both floors of my house. Highly recommended.
