Got them to replace another set of kitchen shears that fell apart. They're tough and cool because they're unconventional and different. You can see that they look different, but the real difference is less obvious. They use a spring to open. So when you loosen your grip, they open automatically and you push to close them. Ordinary scissors, as you know, have no spring and you use your hand to perform all the opening/closing movements. While the spring action seems cool, it also means there's a little clasp you have to use to keep them closed and then unzip so you can use them. We've used scissors so much in the kitchen that the clasp was a nuisance to us. Let's get back to ordinary scissors. But they do exactly what they say and they do it pretty well.
