Review on 📺 Kanto FMX2 Full Motion Mount: Ideal TV Wall Mount for 37-inch to 80-inch TVs by Stephen Zimmer

Great Wall Mount - but check a few points before you start.

Heavy-duty wall mount. This wall mount is reliable, to say the least. It's quite heavy, and it won't be difficult for one person to lift it. (Instructions recommend two people.) Works pretty well. I wall mounted it in our gym and it's just what we needed. • Enough space to swing the TV back and forth for better viewing from both sides of the room. • The inclination can also be easily changed. set up by my wife when she does floor exercises. • I installed a 43" Samsung TV and a 38" VIZIO soundbar, but it fits much larger TVs with ease. Up to 130 pounds! That being said, I have a few minor complaints: 1. The mounting template is NOT straight! The top edge is not parallel to the drilled holes. I made the mistake of thinking that the top of the template is parallel to the holes, which is not the case. I had to realign everything when I realized the taped template wasn't sitting squarely on the wall. (Measure seven times, drill once. OK, drill four times) • MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A QUALITY SPIKING TOOL! Find the centers of the spikes. (I really like my Zircon i500, which I bought from Home Depot a few years ago. It's always been worth the money.) The locking bolts MUST go into the studs (or concrete) to support the weight of the mount and TV wear. .• I finished using a leveling pen to mark the top two holes for drilling in the middle of the two studs. Then place the template holes over the marks, pin the template as shown in the instructions and locate the bottom two holes. It's easier than it looks. • The template is pretty smart. It has a pocket that opens to collect drill cuttings and it handled most of it well. • Of course, if you are running cables through the wall, do so before hanging the mount. • I did not do it. I need to level the TV once I've lifted it. There is a way to adjust the level on the mount after the TV is installed, but it's dead at #2. Find the cable locations BEFORE you install anything! Make sure your cables match your TV. • This is not covered in the manual. • Vertical TV brackets hang on the wall plate. Your cables may need to be routed between your dish and the TV. Different TVs have different layouts. The plate has holes for cable management but I had to adjust the brackets on the TV to get the cables to fit my old Samsung TV properly. I adjusted the position by moving the brackets up about half an inch using the holes in the brackets. • The coaxial, HDMI, RCA, optical, and power connectors were in the center of my TV, just behind the mounting plate. (Specifically the coax cable from the cable box and the RCA cables from the gaming system. Do they make RCA plugs at 90°?) It was difficult to get to the connections when the TV was already installed. • You may need to use spacers to give them enough space.3. Plastic plugs covering the bottom holes of the lever hinges constantly fell out. After collecting and earning everything, they stayed in place. Additional note: I had to go to a hardware store to get four M8 35mm screws for my TV and bracket. Bought black hex head screws. The Kanto mount comes with 40mm and 25mm screws. But I needed 35mm to work with the spacers and the soundbar hanger which I also attached. Make sure the screws are fully seated in the TV's mounting holes to provide adequate support. Install everything to be sure. I had to use some of the washers and washers that came with it to keep the brackets from hitting the bottom tab on the back of my Samsung TV. Again, this all sounds more complicated than it really is • This is a simple project. The actual work took about two hours, not counting going to the hardware store and reinstalling the TV mounts. • If you plan ahead and check the arrangement of the elements, you will avoid annoying rework later. (I learned cables the hard way.) Great wall mount. Stable, versatile and very well made with good instructions. Does its job perfectly.

  • Includes large TV bracket extension.
Cons
