Review on ONA Premier Moen Cartridge Puller Tool - Posi-Temp 1222, 1225, and 1200 Extractor by Bob Novitsky

About two years ago I bought a Moen stem removal tool for my 1222 cartridge. I sprayed the cartridge with vinegar, heated it with a hair dryer, but no effort helped the cartridge stir. Moen's barrel pull was useless. I recently bought an ONA stem puller and tried again. Not only was this tool ridiculously easy to use, it pulled the rod out from start to finish in less than 5 minutes! Years of hard water had completely caked the old cartridge and the stem's plastic backplate came loose when I pulled it out, fully fused to the metal valve body. The plastic wouldn't scrape off (it was very dense) so I had to melt it with a blowtorch. The ONA tool was a great investment. Definitely cheaper than calling a plumber.
