my daughter's hermit crab has seemed depressed the last 6 months we've had him, we've had him together for 9 months. Not really knowing how hermit crabs are supposed to live, we caught him on a beach vacation with gravel and a small aquarium. Well, I've noticed that for the past 6 months he's just been sitting in his corner and never came out, just to eat and drink, and would quickly hide. I bought him a hut to hide under but he still hid in that corner. The poor crab was under stress. It's time to do something new. I bought this thing, a slightly larger cage, and I've never seen him move and dig so much. He is happy! He's been digging all kinds of holes, and now even uses his hut to dig in them. I'm glad I researched and bought this stuff.
