I have been using this model of wireless router since January 2005 and have not had the problems that some others have had. (DI-784 is connected to an uninterruptible power supply along with our DSL modem and other equipment to protect against "nuisances" such as power surges, blackouts, etc.). Used in conjunction with D-Link DWL-AG530. PCI card, my wife's computer has an 802.11a connection at 108 Mbps (Super A mode selected with Turbo static mode). I recently completed a continuous 340 gigabyte PC to PC transfer with no router errors. Your HP DeskJet 6840 printer uses the 802.11g band (Super G without Turbo option). The PC and printer are in a different room from the router and have no line-of-sight signal. I've found that the best signal strength is achieved when the router is mounted high up (on a bookshelf) with the antenna facing up. The signal strength on the PC fluctuates by 70%. For Static Turbo to work on the DI-784, the XR setting (extended range) must be disabled on the DWL-AG530. Also, Super G with Dynamic Turbo only works on 802.11g channel 6.FYI. I'm also using firmware version 2.40 and channel 1 for 802.11g (my neighbor is already using channel 6, which is the default on most routers/APs).
