Best poaching investment I've ever made!

The best product for poaching, without exception! I've used the ones you can heat in the microwave, but the result isn't always consistent, and often the egg would explode, making peeling painful. THIS product is just what you need if you love eggs for a healthy breakfast or snack! The time it takes to boil water to get steam to cook an egg is almost as fast as using a microwave with any other product, but with a reliable result every time. In my experience, I've used a little butter or olive oil and grated the cups first before adding the egg. Take some time to do this so the eggs slide right off, of course you'll need to take a small spoon or dull butter knife and separate the egg from the top of the cup. Just be careful not to get your hands in the hot steam and it's highly recommended to take the pot off the heat first. You just have to experiment with the length of steaming eggs. The thinner it is the less time it will take to steam, or if you want it to firm up with the yolk then cook a few minutes longer. It's VERY important not to over-pour the water into the pot, and half an inch or less is highly recommended. Finally, you're using steam to cook the eggs, so you don't want to drown them in boiling water (because that's what happens when you put too much water in the pot).

Pros
  • HIGH QUALITY COOKING AND CLEANING GLASS. Most poaching bowls have either plastic insert cups, which melt easily and don't cook eggs well, or aluminum cups, which also don't work well. This egg cooker features comfortable non-stick polished stainless steel cooking surfaces and individual insert cups that can be easily removed, quickly cleaned, or placed in the dishwasher so you can get on with your day without wasting time cleaning up.
