Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Jlink Gaming Monitor with Flicker-Free DisplayPort, 165Hz Refresh Rate, Freesync, Low Blue Light, and Tilt Adjustment for Enhanced SEO. by Steven Sacks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very satisfied. definitely worth the purchase price!

To date, all of the other reviews listed here were written by Revain's Vine reviewer, as was myself. Previously and when I first ordered this item there were only a bunch of reviews from Japan and I strongly suspect they were not for this particular monitor given some of the comments they contained. In other words, I ordered this with no real expectations. It could be junk, or it could be great. Well it turns out it's pretty cute, yeah. And yes, that is the very purpose of Vine Reviews. Provide verified, honest reviewers who provide succinct but complete and of course HONEST reviews of items. Sellers provide us with goods for inspection. Sometimes they may wish they hadn't. and sometimes getting their product in front of someone to launch the proverbial ball is just what they need. So let's start. It is "only" an FHD (1920x1080 pixels) monitor. If you really need an ultra high definition screen, keep looking. Of course, even a few inches away from the screen, most of us can't tell the difference between 8K, 4K or the standard 1920 x 1080 resolution. Honestly, I'm not interested in higher resolutions at all. My eyes don't see any noticeable difference (remember folks, your RETINA also has a resolution of "dots per inch", so no, the "higher resolution" your real eyes can't perceive is just wasted). I'm happy with the resolution even when I'm only about a foot from the screen (as it is now typing this on the monitor I'm looking at). color and brightness? Excellent. There's a fair amount of controls available, which you can customize if you want (despite some Japanese reviews mentioning 'no controls', which makes me wonder if they're considering a different device). It is operated via a small "joystick + button" on the back right of the monitor and is therefore easy to overlook. The monitor supports both FreeSync and GSync. So if your graphics card also has one of these features, you can ensure that your display's refresh rate is entirely dependent on how fast the graphics card can send images to it. I am currently using this on an MSI Pro Mini PC with Intel 700 series graphics which does not support these modes. But I still ran it (at the highest built-in refresh rate, 165Hz) and I still haven't seen a single visual artifact after running a few games (the worst in my estimation is the original Crysis that came with this combination works great ) . One thing that confused me was finding out if this monitor has built in speakers. I don't think it is, based on the Revain product page, but the built-in menu shows "volume" and "mute" controls. At first it didn't make any sense to me. I was looking for a speaker but couldn't find it. I tested it and there was no sound. Then I realized that those controls referred to the 3.5mm audio jack. It can receive audio via HDMI or DisplayPort and output it to an EXTERNAL SPEAKER (or headphones) via a 3.5mm jack. There are no built-in speakers. Just in case anyone is confused by this, now you know. However, a set of "clip-on-to-monitor" speakers works just fine. (In my case I'm using a USB connected soundbar that works directly with a PC, but I tested this feature with a set of iHome portable speakers that accept 3.5mm analog input and everything worked as expected .) Cast in metal (I think zinc, but I could be wrong). It is heavier than a plastic stand. which is GOOD as it maintains stability. However, be careful not to tip the monitor forward on this stand to access connectors etc as these two front legs only have rubber on the bottom and the tips are quite sharp and pointy. perfect for destroying countertop surfaces if you're not very careful! I almost scratched the surface of my wife's expensive dining table by stopping at the last moment and putting a towel underneath before trying again! In fact, the design of the stand is my only criticism of this monitor. Everything else seems top notch. However, I will continue to use my 23 inch 3DVision enabled monitor for my main gaming device. for reasons that I hope are obvious (this one won't do stereo 3D, this one will, and I love stereo 3D). But no one sells 3D capable monitors anymore (strange), and when this monitor dies, I think it will become my default "favorite monitor". Naturally. ************************* One final note: JLink is a Japanese company and their website is in Japanese only. And even after translating the page, I didn't find any mention of this monitor anywhere on their page. Hopefully by the time you're reading this you'll have a full product information page and, perhaps more importantly, a full product SUPPORT page (at least including the FAQ and the downloadable manual) for you. . So don't expect reliable "support" at least for now. Since I couldn't find any reference to this monitor on their website, I don't quite understand how I was able to claim the exact three year warranty they refer to in the Revain product page text. It should also be available on their website which is easy to find on the product information page for this monitor.
