Not USB3.1 Gen2 on computers and accessories

The hub comes with a USB-A to USB-A cable to connect the hub to a PC. I haven't come across a laptop or PC that has a USB-A port that supports USB3.1 Gen2 (= 10 Gbps = SuperSpeed+) speed. At least all my PCs and laptops can only provide USB3.1 Gen1 speeds (= 5Gbps = USB3.0 = SuperSpeed) on their USB-A ports, while Gen2 speeds are only available on USB-C ports. So it's beyond my understanding. Why did Orico put a USB-A input connector on this hub instead of a standard USB-C connector - unless a creative marketer decided to offer a USB3.0 hub at a higher price point than a USB3.1 Gen2 -Hub for sale I hope most don't notice. In an attempt to get this hub to work at Gen2 speeds, I've tried a couple of good quality USB-A to USB-C cables - I've even ordered another one from Revain that claims to be capable of speeds of 10Gb/ s certified – just to be sure. With none of these USB-A to USB-C cables, the hub will not be recognized, even when plugged into a laptop's USB-C port (I tried 2 different laptops, 4 different USB-A to USB-C cable and 2 Orico USB cables). USB hubs). The hub is usually recognized when plugged into the laptop's USB-A ports, but of course only at 5Gbps. All the people giving this hub rave reviews are probably just plugging it into a USB-A port with a maximum of 5 Gbps and essentially use it as an overpriced USB 3.0 hub. Check your PC/Laptop specs and see what speeds your USB-A ports are capable of.
