Review on Delphi TS10278 Coolant Temperature Sensor: Reliable Performance and Accurate Readings by Jonathan Fernandez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Absolutely terrible design.

Absolutely horrible design the way they designed it After only 4 months this sensor was completely working out of the engine and was spurting coolant. I had to limp my car to take my daughter to kindergarten. Upon closer inspection, the o-ring appears too large, making it almost impossible to hold with a clamp. The clip doesn't snap securely either, and with a little wiggling you can pull the sensor back out without removing the clip. I attribute this to the adhesive ring on the back providing a ramp for the clamp to climb up. I would recommend using an OEM or other product. Another aftermarket from Pepboys that seems to be much better designed and should rule out a repeat of this. If I were to blow my engine from overheating because of this part, I would sharpen it a lot more.

Pros
  • Each sensor is galvanically isolated to eliminate interference from other vehicle components
Cons
  • Hard to tell
