Big improvement on a good system

Bought this secondary throttle linkage for the Holley Sniper EFI system on my 68 F-100 390 FE. The sniper alone made the truck start better than it has in the 30+ years my family has owned a truck and it still worked just as well as it did with the carburetor. The system showed a downside in my particular use, although it worked well on the freeway and even around town, throttle control was difficult at sustained low speeds. From the factory, Sniper EFI units open the front and rear throttles at a 1:1 ratio. It's probably great for a big inch or performance engine, damn it, probably 90 percent of users. The 390 FE in my truck has decent displacement, but it's a driver, not a racer, and the speed limits around the "airport" I work at are in the 15-25 mph range with a decent one Stop-and-go proportion high speed. pedestrian zone. The throttle opened fast enough that it was difficult to sustain slow speeds and insufficient throttle operating range. If you make that connection (and make some changes to the software), the throttle becomes progressive, the secondary throttles start opening later than the primary (44% on mine) and both are fully open by the time they reach 100%. It seems to have greatly increased the low speed and throttle control, but there's still plenty left when I put my foot in. I haven't taken it to work since the linkage was installed, but after testing it in a low-traffic area, it's now much easier to control throttle and keep speed down. That's probably not what you want for a "racing car". but if, like me, you're looking for slightly better road manners at low speeds, this seems like a big improvement.
