I chose this option because I thought the overload alarm and shutdown feature might be useful for testing different things. It didn't work, but there are many other features that work well. It made a noise when I shook it vigorously, so out of curiosity (maybe the wire came loose) I removed the cover. There's no speaker or power management circuitry inside, no fuse, and the AC connectors appear to be of modest quality. Strangely there is an empty space on the board called: BAT1. The loose noise was due to the display's plastic film slipping over the mould: that's not a problem. UPDATE: I have contacted Mecheer, the seller/dealer. They said they contacted their supplier and confirmed they don't have alarm and shutdown capabilities. and they will fix the list. The display type they use is fully dimmed with the backlight off. It's backlit, not sidelit, and doesn't have a reflective coating to capture room light. If you want to see it, you have to press the button every 10 minutes. It seems that the OVERLOAD indicator can be set to whatever value you want, but it just flashes and disappears when the load is reduced. They need labels on dual function buttons so they can be used without reference to the manual (which is a pretty bad translation). The memory function works, but only after it has been activated for a while. SOME NOTES: 1. Simultaneously press the FUNCTION and UP buttons to DELETE the logged data. This does not clear the overload setting or the kW price. The tiny RESET button resets it to factory defaults or new settings in case of a jam.2. Just because it says 1800W max doesn't mean you should run it at max power for very long.
