Review on 💡 Corsair HX1000 - 1000W 80+ Platinum Fully Modular Power Supply (CP-9020139-NA) by Bobby Martinez

So I ordered this PSU for my new Ryzen 3900x, GTX 2080ti, x570 Auros, Tt Level 20 GT Build. I did my best for it and picked it up at the end of July. After about a day of use, this power supply blew out. It crackled loudly in the middle of idle when I was playing with my dog. I think the best way to describe the smell is that of a burning skunk. I turned off the surge protector and carefully ran to the fire extinguisher. The block really exploded. I don't know exactly what happened, but I had a very, very expensive surge protector that I suspect didn't fail. Also, I didn't drop a single screw (or anything that might short it out) when reassembling the PC from scratch. Lemon happens and I'm guessing I have a lemon. Otherwise it was an accident. Considering the reputation of Corsair power supplies. However, it is clear that this unit has been very well designed. It didn't hurt the PC. Everything was good. I appreciate a power supply that can fail easily and has the design needed to minimize or completely eliminate damage to the motherboard etc. Although I was planning to buy a new unit it was out of stock and I said I will wait at least 3 weeks (please note I am talking about July when I say it is sold out. I know it's sold out right now). The closest version of Corsair waited about 2 weeks. I ended up going to BestBuy that day and got a second tier EVGA 1kw G1+ 80+ Gold. After running this for a few months all my other parts seem to be clean. Kudos to Corsair for designing their product to fail gracefully.
