I bought a new car battery and it was a little shorter than the one I had before. This resulted in the battery holder not being able to be tightened firmly, which allowed the battery to slip. As you can see in the picture, I made spacers for the main contact points of the bracket, which now ensures a tight fit and the battery no longer hums like a disk. Works perfectly. I'm sure they will find other uses too: they are durable, weather resistant and the different sizes are practical.
