This is a beautiful cold brew coffee maker which I bought during Prime Day at a decent price. Before, I made cold coffee using a glass pitcher and a cheesecloth strainer. My main criticism of this brewer (compared to the Steinjug) is that it makes iced coffee and not iced coffee concentrate, meaning the coffee isn't concentrated enough. This means I get a lot less coffee due to the amount of coffee beans used. NYT's Wirecutter reviewed other breweries using the same brewing method (i.e. coffee grounds in a net) and concluded the results were too watery. I have to agree with this conclusion. I'm going back to my stein, but it's a very messy method, so maybe I'll go with an OXO Cold Brew Coffee Maker at some point in the future. A side note is that, as other reviewers have pointed out, the lid is not airtight. I left town for a few days and returned with obviously less coffee than when I left. Either the fumes or the cats were stealing coffee from the fridge.
