Review on Enhance Your Grip with Supacaz Super Sticky Kush Bar Tape by Robert Sorrells

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Stylish and comfortable but unreliable

I'm always looking for a good brown bar tape to match my brown leather saddle so I was excited when I found the Supercaz coffee colour. It looks great and feels comfortable. The band feels comfortable, not too thick. In this regard only praise. The main downside of this band is the lack of durability, which is disappointing given the higher price. My experience wasn't as bad as some of the other reviews here, but the tape is starting to fray under the brake housings where my forearm rests. You can see in the picture where I lifted the hood, the contrast between the fresh tape and the open tape is stark. Sweat and dirt from my hands darken the color. I don't mind because the darker color of the coffee hides this, but I can see that there is an issue with lighter colors. I've ridden about 600 miles with this band and it still holds up despite wearing gloves when riding. As for the wrap, it's not very stretchy, but wraps easily enough. Overall, the durability leaves a lot to be desired, but I would still buy it again because of the color and comfort.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Damaged
