I bought this with a 2mm model 925 pencil because Revain said it was "bought often with this item". WILL NOT WORK WITH THIS PENCH MODEL. Staedtler makes another rod holder that works with this sharpener, but not the 925. Beware of the suggestion mechanism, lesson learned! Please note separately that this item comes with 0 instructions on or in the box. I literally had no idea how to use this thing until I found a video online of someone using it. Basically you have to click on the extra lead and check the depth with one of the pinholes you want. Then insert the pencil into the hole of the sharpener and twist to sharpen. Having no moving parts is a great idea, but it's a poor design as the offset and angle of the edge causes the guide to click frequently (as others here will attest). I wouldn't buy this again. I'd rather spend the extra money on a better mechanical sharpener than endure constant broken cords with this one.
