After an hour's call to XEROX Technical Support, I, not them, found out why my original cartridge was printing duplicates and triplets the first time. Page with single and random multi-page prints. The Xerox 3215 has a software bug that starts printing a page too soon after the printer wakes up from sleep mode. This printer, and possibly other printers, will go to sleep almost immediately after printing a page. After waking up, it takes five to ten seconds for the fuser to warm up. Unfortunately, printing starts almost immediately and before the device has warmed up to temperature. The solution is simple. Adjust the printer settings so that it will NOT go to sleep for at least 10 minutes, preferably longer, and wake the printer BEFORE you start printing. So once the printer has warmed up, it will remain warm until the set time has elapsed. The default is one minute, but I don't think it's that long. As soon as I changed the sleep setting to a longer delay, there were no more ghosts.
