Review on Hard-Wired Motion Sensor: Maxxima Ceiling Mount 360° PIR Occupancy Sensor by Aaron Johnson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Looks good but has some sensitivity issues.

I like the visuals when installed on the ceiling of a public restroom, but found the sensitivity adjustment is not very linear and is either too sensitive or not enough. However, he feels too good, because even a flash of light in the room will upset him. Like a car headlight shining through an invisible window in a dark closet, it turns on. I've tried masking the sensor lens to avoid some of these false alarms, but I'm still working on getting it in reliable condition. Also very sensitive to heat or cold entering the room. This is a high level sensor as advertised and requires a fairly high ceiling to function.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Keep quiet
