Let me make sure I understand. I bought two of these for $30 each as the reviews were pretty good and the previous devices were from a different manufacturer but were identical except for the name sticker and they don't look like most adapters of this type; that should be a hint - and one works fine and the other doesn't. I tried different ports and the included USB 3.0 cable. One works, the other doesn't. As always, Revain is great for returns and I am sending one back. However, there is no way to get a replacement. Why? I think it's because the supplier got such great feedback from the start that they figured it out; You could increase the price by $10. So, I got something else for like $30 and the odds of it working or not working are still the same - 50/50. So I guess I'm still fine. At least the brand doesn't remind me of the name of the Chinese movie B. What surprises me is that there are adapters with similar specs that cost a little over $10, and presumably this adapter costs $46; not exactly what you would expect from a wireless USB adapter. In a way I wish it was possible to buy something with a recognizable brand and even if they are more expensive you have some confidence that they will work. But even that is no longer a guarantee, as they are all made in the same places by the same people who, with extremely rare exceptions, even know or understand what quality or customer service is. They don't care either. I'm curious to see what the reviews on this item are. I've been at PC long enough to know that stuff like this ends pretty quickly. I'll find out soon with one that actually works. Stay tuned... I will definitely be there.
