The only snag is that the hose from the valve cover goes to this air intake hose because Toyota uses a 5/16" air hose to the valve cover instead of a 1/2" fitting on this one air intake . The '98 Camry uses a 1/2" hose. All camber air intakes have a 1/2" PVC air fitting on the valve cover. I can only speculate that maybe the Japanese and Americans made mine differently. Yes, the Camry was also made in the good old USA in 1997. Look at vin# if the J is made in Japan if the T is in Tennessee. This is useful to know when you order parts and it says Japan model. This is just a fresh air intake for the PVC system. Attach the 5/16" lead to the short 1/2" hose. If it's slightly loose, add 5/16 inch tape and insert it into the adapter hose. Just in your head, so no surprises
