Review on 🚘 Ford 8L3Z-6M280-B Transmission Solenoid by David Gibbs

Good if you have a 5.4 3 valve and want to install it at home. I would first check to see if you have small 1-3/8" round washers around the solenoids. After watching countless videos on YouTube, it's my impression that whatever year the engine is, it's 2004 -2009, can be swapped out without removing the valve covers IT IS NOT TRUE! My 07 built in 2008 has smaller round spacers. After receiving the torx t27 bits to install the bolt. 1/2 hour of fiddling to actually get it on the bolt head to hook it in. Push it in and it unscrews very easily. I reached out and grabbed the solenoid, pulled it out but it doesn't fit in the hole! There was no way to get it out. I took out the new gaskets and compared it to the new solenoid Measured The distance from the edge of the screw mount to the magnet back is 1-1/2" larger than the width of the gasket! So check the dbl before ordering to make sure you can get it out of the hole. I'm sure you can with the big gaskets, but with the small round ones you have to remove the valve covers.
