Great product to fit EGR Valve Vacuum Solenoids

Received these to replace the VCT Solenoids on my Ford Mustang GT 09 after a dyno session showed slow VCT response (genuine parts over 152,850 miles). Pulled both VCT solenoids and found that 1 had a mesh limited by a metal molding from the oil filter's center perforated metal tube and the other 1 was fine. I always try to use genuine FoMoCo parts as they are strictly for Ford vehicles and the quality follows them so you don't have to worry about that. Great prices too.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Solid 2004 F-150 5.4L

My truck was rattling and sounding like diesel and the check engine light came on recently. When I checked the code it said that my camshaft timing solenoid was lagging beyond its limits. After some research, I found that everyone recommends using genuine OEM parts. I was able to find a link to this part thanks to a YouTube video. Once I was able to remove the gaskets, replacing the solenoids was a breeze. My 2004 5.4 liter F150 runs and sounds better now than it has in recent months.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

5.4L Ford Shaking/Rough/Shut Down

5.4L Trucks & SUVs 2004-2010 I had a 2009 Expedition 5.4L. If your 5.4L pickup truck or SUV is having trouble idling, that's it most likely your problem. Drive into traffic or slowly reverse, then take the gas off and suddenly the truck shakes, it seems like it's running on 3 cylinders and about to stop? Magnets VKT. Replace them and your problem will most likely be solved. 2004-2006 models can be changed without removing the valve covers, 2007 and up the valve covers must be removed. YouTube…

Check if your engine has 1-3/8 round gaskets!

Good if you have a 5.4 3 valve and want to install it at home. I would first check to see if you have small 1-3/8" round washers around the solenoids. After watching countless videos on YouTube, it's my impression that whatever year the engine is, it's 2004 -2009, can be swapped out without removing the valve covers IT IS NOT TRUE! My 07 built in 2008 has smaller round spacers. After receiving the torx t27 bits to install the bolt. 1/2 hour of fiddling to actually get it on the bolt head to…

  • Easy to use

Ford Genuine Part - Exhaust and Emissions

The main idea of the upgraded parts is to reduce the oil connection holes to increase the oil and lubrication pressure in the VCT system. In addition to this part: 5.4L 4.6L 3V Ford VCT Solenoid 8L3Z-6M280-B, consider these latest Ford parts: 5.4L 4.6L 3V Ford Cam Follower Rocker Arm 3L3Z-6564-A (replaces 3L3Z-6564- BA ) 5.4L 4.6L 3V Ford Hydraulic Lash Adjuster 5L1Z-6500-A5.4L 4.6L 3V Ford Camshaft/Cam Phaser 3R2Z-6A257-DA (comes with a 15mm one-way screw) I didn't like reusing Ford cam tower…

The only VCT Solenoid you should buy

This genuine Ford Motorcraft Variable Valve Timing Solenoid is MUCH better than the inferior aftermarket versions. My engine had 2 aftermarket VCT solenoids installed just before I bought my 5.4L 3V F150. engine and were problematic from the start. On mild days, they provide intermittent and non-linear power delivery when accelerating with a noticeable lack of power. They will perform worst on the hottest days in the mid 80s or higher and will cause the car to backfire, lose all power and…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine

Fixed the engine knocking issue at idle.

Worked great in my 2008 Ford Expedition EL 5.4L 3V engine. Around the 100,000 mile mark I noticed an intermittent check engine light that comes on on long drives. Of course I didn't do anything. it's gone. rzunimag. About 103,000 miles after the engine warmed up, it started rattling and sounded like a diesel truck idling. It shook a lot. The check engine light was on all the time. Went to AutoZone to read my codes. They told me that he read "Cam Position Snesor" over and over again. Bought some

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
