5.4L Trucks & SUVs 2004-2010 I had a 2009 Expedition 5.4L. If your 5.4L pickup truck or SUV is having trouble idling, that's it most likely your problem. Drive into traffic or slowly reverse, then take the gas off and suddenly the truck shakes, it seems like it's running on 3 cylinders and about to stop? Magnets VKT. Replace them and your problem will most likely be solved. 2004-2006 models can be changed without removing the valve covers, 2007 and up the valve covers must be removed. YouTube is your friend in any repair, remember that. The passenger side is a problem, the driver's side was easier but at this price just replace both. I had to remove the valve covers on my '09 but intermittently and slowly I replaced them and the spark plugs in less than 5 hours. Pre 2008 Ford spark plugs are a nightmare, up to 2008+ if possible! In any case, old solenoids stick together and stop working, but this is a revised version that will solve your problem.
