If you're going to use it to strap 3/4" plywood, it gets a little tight and you need to be careful what you're doing to keep him from moving. However, it will work. There are a lot of joints, but not excessively. Not sure there is an edge at this price point that doesn't have a lot of connections. If you paint, it doesn't matter. Also, a pair of flush-ended scissors costs an extra $20. It depends on the right tool for the right job. I did this with a razor blade, but even my best cuts were a little off. (I did a large project that required a whole 50ft roll)
