Review on πŸ”§ Amazon Basics 10-Inch (250mm) Locking Adjustable Wrench: Versatile Tool for Various Repair and Maintenance Tasks by Matt Kucrud

Initially I wasn't impressed with this tool but now I am.

Adjustable wrenches have the advantage that you don't need to know what size you need, but this comes with a trade-off; You have to keep refining it so that it hits the golden mean. The pinching action on this unique device doesn't move the face too much, so you need to get it very close before pinching it. Then it dawned on me; At the end of the jaws are measurement markings in both the SAE standard and the metric system. So if you know you have a half-inch stud, you can dial it in just a hair's breadth from the 1/2-inch mark, very easily place the jaws on the stud, and then compress it for a perfect fit. In truth, this will be my medium-sized adjustable tool from now on. The gauge is accurate on each side. I am critical of measurements. More specifically, just like tuning a guitar, you want your final adjustment to be upside down and in the tightening direction, not the loosening direction. This is a gear shop and you have permission to play in the gears. Luckily they made marks when tightening instead of loosening. So when tightening, crawl to the mark. Give it a try, get out a precision tape measure and use it after the 1 inch mark so you don't play with the floating tab at the end and double check the measurements. Under the microscope it seems accurate. Well, I did it to give it 5 stars, both for the ingenious design and for the fact that the two surfaces match perfectly when you clench the closed jaws. That and the fact that it's made from a substantial thickness of metal that's ready to be abused. )

Pros
