Unfortunately, after a day of using it to check audio cable continuity, the tester became detached and then stopped working completely. I think the problem was that when the wires were plugged in, the transmitter's internal circuitry no longer recognized continuity on PIN 1, and therefore didn't check properly. Sometimes turning the transmitter on or off worked, and sometimes plugging the cable back in. But I would spend more time getting the sender to recognize PIN 1 on the cable than verifying it. I suspect that the quality of the internal circuitry is sub-standard. I would not buy this device again because I can't believe it is giving me accurate results. Unfortunately, that's because this is a decent tester that has potential, especially since it can separate the cable ends at two different points for testing. But the last thing I need is a tester pointing out the bad cable when it's a perfectly good cable.
