Review on Knitsilk Mulberry Knitting Crochet Tapestry by Sasha Hsiao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very thin yarn, excellent quality but I will not use knitting needles larger than 2.75mm in diameter.

Excellent quality yarn, uniform thickness and evenly wrapped in 3 layers. It has a lot of shine and I've noticed that the patterns on it don't show up that easily. I like the front best. I will most likely use 2.25mm to 2.75mm bamboo needles as this yarn is very thin and slippery. My gauge with 2.75mm needles is approximately 32 sts x 44 rows for a 4" x 4" patch in stockinette stitch before washing. I've just started my project so I don't know how much shrinkage, if any, after the first wash. Be careful as silk yarn is easy to knot. I immediately wrapped the yarn to avoid knots and tangles.

Pros
  • Three-ply silk yarn is ideal for socks, shawls, children's clothing and fine knitwear. This creates a lightweight, flexible fabric that pairs well with openwork stitches and knitwear.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
