Brad Pin drills are designed so that the center starting point is higher than the two side cutting points. So the drill starts by drilling the middle point and eventually engages the two outer points cutting a hole of the desired diameter. With this tool, all 3 tips are sharpened to the same height, so the tip of the drill will wander and break all the wood if each of the 3 tips tries to pierce independently. Worst point drill bit I've used in over 30 years of woodworking. In the listing photo, the middle tip is "higher" than the outer two, but my tool wasn't sharpened as much.
