My wife and I would like to replace the flooring in our house with LVP. We reviewed several products and two companies came out and took measurements. The first company submitted their proposal, then we contacted company #2. I was shocked that listing #2 was an additional 192 square feet. I purchased this laser, did my own calculations, and my numbers came within 2 square feet of Company #1. I liked Company #2's product offering better, so I challenged their offer and presented my evidence. They sent her husband back for re-measurement and I noticed that he wasn't misusing his laser. It was set to measure from the back edge of the tool, but always where the front of the tool was on the starting edge. It might not sound like much, but adding 3 inches to each dimension added almost 200 additional square feet to the grand total. My $20 investment reduced material and labor costs by about $1,000. The #1 company now says it can get the same product, but its initial offering is at a higher price. If they agree with corrected quote #2. we will go with them. Note: I compared the measurements of several areas with my Stanley tape measure laser and they were 100% accurate every time. Great tool at a great price.
