I tried it on a well used ax and a large jungle knife and it really improved the blade with little effort. Yesterday I tried it out on a mulching blade I use on my Honda hedge trimmer. It's a good blade and they have to cut very large dead bramble vines and vine maple saplings, so it's quite a hard job. It took a little more work with the harder steel, but I got some of the sharpness back. I am very impressed that after running this sharpener a few times over the blade I can feel the finer edge coming back.
