Definitely sharp on hand tools

As you can see from the picture, the blade becomes extremely sharp. So when the blade slipped off my workbench and flashed on my finger, it cut easily. It cuts through the oily lipid part of the skin so I think it can grind a lot more. Be careful, be careful, use cut resistant gloves if you don't like blood

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Does what it should. Time will tell how long the edge will last. Be careful not to re-sharpen the axes, hatches, etc. This will dull them faster. This tool is aggressive when force is used. Drag with a light touch to avoid over-sharpening. Made in China.

Very handy indeed: Hand tool

I just bought a new log splitter and decided to get this ax sharpener too. My 6lb sledgehammer broke and I think it was partly because it was blunt and ripped off a bunch. About half the cord broke and noticed a few dents on the blade. It is very handy to have this tool for removing dents and keeping the ax sharp. It is also very convenient to clean the wire brush. I am very satisfied with this product and thank this company for a well designed multi tool.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Very expensive

A great tool made my blade very sharp.

The reviews I've read on this product said it was only good for blade dents so of course I didn't wear gloves because it wasn't supposed to be sharp enough to cut me but it did did a great job removing the large dents in the center of my ax from hitting the metal, but took maybe an hour to sharpen after that. This tool made my blade very sharp and very smooth, I even accidentally cut myself while sharpening. Exceeds all expectations 5 stars.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Crumpled

Surprised how well this sharpener works

I tried it on a well used ax and a large jungle knife and it really improved the blade with little effort. Yesterday I tried it out on a mulching blade I use on my Honda hedge trimmer. It's a good blade and they have to cut very large dead bramble vines and vine maple saplings, so it's quite a hard job. It took a little more work with the harder steel, but I got some of the sharpness back. I am very impressed that after running this sharpener a few times over the blade I can feel the finer edge

  • Hands free operation

Works perfectly! Almost too good!

I bought a machete and decided to sharpen it myself with a file. After this not very good sharpness, I decided to dream a little. I read the reviews about this simple device and decided to give it a try. The package arrived, I followed the simple instructions and in less than a minute my machete was "scary" sharp. Like "be careful where you put that thing", sharp as if you hardly trip over it, it's going to cut you. I am VERY impressed and would recommend this product to anyone who needs a…

NOT FOR AXES in sharpening stones

So here I am again, falling in love with what ends up being just another hand-held carbide sharpener. I knew that deep down, but somehow I convinced myself it would work for my axe. The problem is that the tip of the ax never reaches the carbide. I have a regular wooden handle ax but it's too big for this sharpener. I think it should be marketed as an ax sharpener/machete. Ditto for my other "problem solver", the Fiskars version sold at Lowe's. Doesn't work for the same reason as above. After…

It worked great with Hand tool

Received, opened, used - now have two axes that are well sharpened. I agree that it takes a bit of getting used to aligning and holding it that way during the move, but I figured it out so I think others can too. Ax blade, you just have to maintain that angle while dragging it across the blade. However, remember that you must align it tangent to the edge of the blade. This means it should rotate easily along the arc of the blade. Once you start using it you will see how it works. I used to…

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Obsolete model

FIRST DO NOT keep your machete or hook in the same compartment as this sharpener! Bevel, construction, safety and comfort are great for sharpening AX. For a bushuka or machete, their blades are too thin, and with a 25* bevel, it will "try" to sharpen no more than 1/8" of the blade edge. With that much bevel, it won't last more than 15 minutes sharp under normal, stress-free use.If you pick up a marker, close the word machete, and use it solely to sharpen your axe, you will be very…

When you need a sharp ax fast!

After years of use, my old ax has become quite dull. Since I used the ax occasionally for practice, I didn't worry too much about it. But last fall, when I had enough brushwood and a few stumps to get rid of, I decided it was time to sharpen the old axe. Bastard after watching a few videos on YouTube but it took forever no matter how boring this ax was. I then found a few different ax sharpeners at a few hardware stores I visited but they were either too expensive or just didn't look heavy…
