impractical to install brackets in tight spaces otherwise all ok

Others complain about the brightness - it's not the headlights, it's extra light so other drivers can see you. My only suggestion for anyone installing brackets is to put double sided tape on the back of the brackets when you're ready to drill holes, saves a lot of fuss!
