They fit snugly in the cigarette lighter hole, very handy. All I can say is that the blue I received is pretty vibrant. At night it bounces off the driver's side window when I've drilled a hole to the left of the steering wheel. There's nothing I can't fix with tape, but if you stick it on the side of your car you'll be able to see it in your window at night. Next time I would go with a red LED as it will be a bit dimmer. Overall I would buy it again, I've bought 3 and used 2 so far. A very good article. Oh and the best! This is a pseudo sensor for the condition of your batteries! The display shows the voltage of your battery, giving you early warning when your battery is getting low and you need a new one. Normal operation (when the unit is on) is around 14.5 volts, 12.4 or so when it is off. So if you're driving and notice the voltage drop below 13.5 or so, you might want to do a battery test.
