Worse than TERRIBLE, IT'S DANGEROUS!

I was reheating pasta and a terrible teflon smell came out of the pan. Needless to say, I refused to eat. I also washed the pot thoroughly with hot soapy water before using it for the first time. This is dangerous. I have never had any problems with Faberware. Could this be fake?
