Review on ๐Ÿ‘ Enhanced Control and Comfort: ESI Grips Extra Chunky MTB Grip by Jason Winkfield

High quality disposable grips

I've ridden three different bikes with these grips and have always loved the feel and look. My two biggest complaints are that they are very difficult to install. The trick I learned during installation is to pour some kind of liquid and run the zip tie through the handle when installing. In this case, the zipper is mounted between the handle and the steering wheel and acts as a slider due to the smooth plastic surface. If you don't use a turnbuckle, you will try with all your might to pull the handle over the bar. With a zip, you slip the grip onto the handlebars and then unzip the grip and handlebars and you're done. My other complaint (and it really sucks) is that the grips are disposable, meaning they are not interchangeable - once tightened if you want to install different grips, or if you need to replace the handlebars on your bike They cut from the handles. Maybe there is a way to take them off, but I tried and tore them up. Another downside is that the handles are made of foam. So if you fall and your handlebars hit a branch or rock, the grips will break and eventually fall off.
