I primarily ordered this unit because it had a built in CD player. So I was understandably disappointed when, upon opening the box and unpacking the receiver, I found that the CD player was not working. The tray opened and it accepted and read a CD, read the number of tracks and total duration, but then didn't play the last 3 or 4 seconds. It acted like it was getting ready to play, but just stopped and went back to the reading you'd expect after the CD played. The instructions say nothing at all about the operation of the CD player. I've also found, as have others, that the initial setup is extremely tedious in many ways. It would be nice if they gave you the option to set up Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Heos, etc. as a standalone option instead of that being the very first thing that comes up when you first turn on the device. Some of us just want to make music the old fashioned way. After reading other reviews I was too scared to even try to update the software. My conclusion is that as a high-end brand like Marantz, you need to invest a lot more time and attention into quality control.
