Review on 🎵 Acoustic Audio Goldwood HD728: In-Wall/Ceiling Home Theater 7.2 Surround Sound Speakers (9 Speakers, 7.2 Channels, 8 Inch, White) by Sparkle Ross

Nice kick to tune dollar dynamics.

I am very impressed - nice clean look. The surround back speaker tweeters can be adjusted to face the seating area, which is nice. At the moment I have this set up in a room with a concrete floor and some sound absorption, but the sound is still fairly balanced and comfortable. I can't wait for the furniture and floor to be set up to absorb some of the echo. Set up was straightforward - instructions are very limited but hardly required as it all just "made sense". The subwoofers and surround back speakers don't have spring terminals (which worked fine for me) so I soldered the connections to them - you can use compression fittings as well. The setup comes with speaker wire, but I'd recommend just throwing it away - 20 gauge and too short for wall mounting in my opinion. If you're going to the trouble of installing in-wall speakers, I'd recommend at least 14 gauge. As for the subs, I cheated and got a 100 watt per channel stereo amp from my local thrift store - 100 watts per channel. The channel is minimal for them, but it was a very inexpensive way to drive stereo subwoofers and seems to deliver enough power for my needs. But they definitely exceeded my expectations for the quality I've come to expect from an in wall speaker setup and I LOVE the clean look in the room which to me is worth the compromise. Subwoofer in same wall cavity (between same posts) as left and right speakers - all speakers (including subwoofer) fit in a standard built-in 2x4 interior wall cavity (3.5" deep), however I had to trim some insulation to get a good fit. At first I was concerned that the wall would shake and interfere with the projection screen on the wall, but so far I haven't noticed any movement at all. For the money it was worth it.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • long wait
