Review on IDealBed 4I Adjustable Bed Base: Queen Size, Wireless Massage & More! by Joseph Campos

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lived up to my expectations, and then some.

I read a lot of reviews for this model and it's predecessor the IdealBed 3i. I decided to shell out the extra for the massage feature and the charging ports, but if that's not your thing, the 3i is cheaper and I'm sure just as good. This was our first adjustable bed frame, paired with a new Tempurpedic hybrid medium mattress. Here's my take:Delivery and setup: came on a pallet and delivered to our front door. It's pretty heavy, but manageable. My 24 year old son and husband got it in and in the bedroom without too much trouble. Would be very difficult for one man unless you're a weightlifter. When you open it up, it seems very intimidating but it's misleading. We basically screwed the legs on, uncoiled the electric cord, and turned it over. Then you snip off the rest of the ties underneath (which protect the electric components.) I was surprised at the ease.Mattress height: We figured that we'd use all the leg height, since there was no box spring and the cats hide from the dogs under the bed. Mistake. When we put the mattress on, we realized it was pretty high (my husband commented that with the adjustable base it reminded him of a hospital bed). We'll have to take the mattress off I think to shorted the legs by taking off the 2" and 3" extenders. We were too tired by that time.Features. LOVE. OMG, LOVE. Didn't think I'd really enjoy the massage feature, but it's pretty strong, and adjustable. You can adjust both the head "volume" (for lack of a better word) and the feet. Different types of massage as well, which I didn't expect. The remote worked perfectly from the start. The raising and lowering of both head and feet are silent and smooth. Tried the "snore" setting on our first night for my husband. It didn't totally stop the snoring, but it wasn't as loud at all so I think it helps. I've never liked to read or watch TV in bed because it just wasn't comfortable, but that will change now (although I'm not going to let my bedroom become another TV room, I don't think it's good for your sleep). What else? Still getting used to the new mattress, but I am really liking it. Works well with the adjustable base. I'll update this review if anything goes horribly wrong, but right now, I'm very pleased!

Pros
  • Full featured ergonomic wireless back-lit remote with 18 buttons, 3 pre-set positions including zero-gravity, anti-snore, and flat button
Cons
  • The bed base is quite noisy when adjusting, which can be bothersome for light sleepers
