I just received my cast iron bacon maker and have used it twice. Both times along with my 12 inch cast iron skillet. Used it as a bacon press and as a sausage press. In both cases it worked great. The sausages were cut lengthwise and without a press would curl and cook unevenly. and more even. I was amazed at the difference the press made! The press is cast iron so I assume it will last almost forever. It's well made, there's no rough metal anywhere. This is the correct weight and size for a 12 CI pan. It's attractive enough to keep away if you have the space.
